Talk Soon · Last updated 14 October 2026

The short version: you're heard before you're seen. People get your first name, voice and color. Your photo and age stay hidden unless you and someone you've talked to both choose to reveal. We don't sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps. You can delete everything from the app at any time.

Who we are

Talk Soon is a small app run by Simon Ågren, a private individual in Sweden, who is the data controller under the GDPR. Questions or requests: use our contact form.

What we collect and why

WhatWhy
Your email and city, and your gender if you choose to give it, if you join the list on our websiteOnly to tell you when a season opens near you, and to see whether a season would have a good mix of people. Not used for anything else, and not connected to an account in the app. Ask us to take you off the list any time.
Sign-in details: your Apple ID sign-in (which may be a private relay email) or your email addressTo create and secure your account.
First name, birthday, gender, cityTo show your first name, check you're 18 or older, match you with people in the age range you chose (and whose range you're in), and place you in a season in your city. Your age is shown only after a mutual reveal. Your birthday itself is never shown.
Who you want to hear from, and an age rangeOnly to choose whose voices you hear and who hears yours. Never shown to anyone. Because this can say something about your sexual orientation, we only use it with your explicit consent, which you give by choosing it and can withdraw by deleting your account.
Your voice intro and your voice colorShown to people in your season, so they can decide whether to talk with you.
Your photoKept hidden. Shown only to someone you've talked with, and only if you both choose to reveal, from reveal night on.
Voice memos you sendDelivered to the one person in that conversation.
A voice memo you send with "I want to talk", if you record oneHeard only by the person you sent it to, so they can decide whether to talk with you. If you both want to talk, it stays at the top of your conversation.
Your choices: pass / want to talk, reveal and meet answersTo make matches and show results when both of you have answered. Your answers are never shown on their own.
Reports and blocksTo keep people safe. Reports are reviewed by us.
A notification token for your phone, if you turn notifications onTo tell you about a new voice memo, someone who wants to talk with you, a match, and when the season moves on. Notifications show first names only, never what anyone said. Turn them off any time in your phone's settings.

We don't use analytics or advertising tools, and we don't use your data to profile you. We don't use AI to rank or match people. If we ever add automated safety checks (for example, transcribing voice memos to catch abuse), we'll update this policy before we do.

Legal basis

Who else handles your data

We use a few services to run the app. They process data only on our behalf:

We don't sell or share your data with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account (You → Delete account), we delete your profile, voice intro, photo, matches, choices, the voice memos you sent with "I want to talk" and the voice memos in your conversations right away. Those conversations then end for the other person too. Backups at our hosting provider may keep copies for a short time before they're overwritten.

If you joined the season list on our website, we keep your email until you ask us to remove it or we stop running seasons.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Most of this you can do in the app; for anything else, contact us. If you think we're handling your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

18+ only

Talk Soon is only for people 18 and older. We check your age from your birthday and remove accounts we find belong to someone younger.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
